Space Pirates-- Assignment 1 Empty

In celebration of their one year anniversary aboard The Creed, Captain Blade had bought an excessive amount of alcohol for everyone aboard. While they did have a boy aboard, the captain really didn't care overmuch if he had a little too much. In fact, it was funny to watch him. The festivities, however, were short lived when the captain got a call from The General.

The General was a man who sort of rose to power when all hell broke loose on Earth. He was ex military, retired with honors and was working side-by-side with the president. The General is a ruthless man with no tolerance for a lot of things. Anarchy being one of them. While most officials had died or were captured during the Uprising, the General remained in his seat of power and was mostly well respected by his followers and the small army under his command. The General and Captain Athena had a sort of... Relationship. No, they were not dating. Captain Athena had gone rogue during the uprising, and The General kept her out of prison so long as she ran his errands. And this one was a doozey.

She left the crew deck to take the call in her private quarters. The General didn't seem happy about this one, and neither was she when she found out what he had in store. Over the intercom, she called for a meeting in the briefing room. All crew members. She left her quarters and went into the meeting room to wait for her crew to show up. One by one they slowly trickled in, some were more drunk than others and this amused her a bit. Unfortunately they would sober up once they knew the new mission. When the last one finally came in, she sighed and looked at everyone.

"Men, women. We have a new assignment from the General himself... And it's not a pretty one." she watched as the crew looked at each other. "We're to pick up five, high profile criminals from Earth's prison and ship them over to the maximum security facility in sector 12."

Sector 12 was deep space. A place where there was only two planets each with it's own hostile alien race. Each race has been at war for thousands of years, and treading into that sector was no easy task. It would take them ten days with these prisoners and their holding cells were only big enough for three comfortably. For once in her life Athena Blade was worried, and it showed on her face. Never before had transporting prisoners been a problem... Until now.

"Alright troops, prepare the holding cells and get this ship ready. We leave in one hour and should be to earth by the end of the day. Sorry for the festivities being short-lived. I'll make it up to you, someday." With that, she left the room and went to the navigation deck. She flipped switches and pushed buttons to get The Creed ready to orbit Earth's atmosphere.

[[Okay so, obviously you would all head to your parts of the ship and get her prepared for take off. You can talk to the Captain, create an NPC or talk to other players but no directing the scene change. Thanks!! And Welcome.]]

Space Pirates-- Assignment 1 Empty

Today was a very special day for Jason. Not only was today the one year anniversary for the creed it was also the day before his and Vianna's Five year anniversary. He had decided that tomorrow was the day he would send her a message after a year long bout of no communication besides a large portion of his monthly checks. The only reason he didnt send any messages was fear that The Reavers would some how find him pr Vianna.

Jason was nervous and had been writing the message he was planning to send for almost three weeks. Within it he gave a basic explanation of his absence with out giving any details that could potentially but himself or Vianna in danger. There was also several paragraphs about how much he loved and missed her. It was basically a culmination of all of his pent up emotions from the last year in which he spent any time when he wasn't in a deadly firefight or partying thinking about Vianna.

While Jason's thoughts were occupied with Vianna and all the nervousness that went along with it he drank and sat alone at a table in the back corner of the room. This was strange for him because normally he was one of the more talkative members of the crew. Any time anyone walked up and asked if everything was alright he just said "Got alot on my mind." and left it at that.

Despite being talkative and generally friendly Jason kept his past to himself. The only member of the crew he confided in was the ships young but very talented behavioral psychologist, Clyde Youman, who had taken a particular interest in Jason. The main reason behind this was the besides Jason's tendency towards happiness he did have a very dark side of himself that would show itself mainly in times of anger. Eventually Dr. Clyde discovered that Jason had more than just physical scars from his troubled youth and the short but extremely brutal and testing time at war.

Jason heard Captain Athena's announencment over the loudspeaker and started heading towards her office. When he entered her office he intentionally sat without permision or saluting. It was little acts of rebellion like this that let him make it through the rigid and disciplined military life. After listening to the mission requirements and getting a small adrenaline rush at the thought of going into sector 12 he stood and found Dr. Clyde and asked him to help with the final touches to his love letter.

Jason needed help with even the basics of computers. His family never had enough money for a computer and therefore he had never learned how to properly work one. Dr. Clyde had been working with him on this though and he was starting to be able to use them at the most basic levels.

After Jason was done with his touch ups he decided to go to bed.

Jack used to be a hell of a party person, but tonight he sat at a table with some of the more "hard ass" veterans. He watched as some of the younger crew members danced and drank. He stared thinking about how he wished he could let go for a night and party with the rest of them, but he had to keep up appearances. Not to mention alcohol seemed to screw with his implants some how.

He heard Captain Athena call for a meeting over the loud speaker and he stood up and started walking towards the meeting room. That's when he bumped into and old friend of his, Lt. Abraham Field. Lt. Field was the one who pulled him out of harms way during an alien ambush about ten years ago. Jack only survived because this man had ran into gun firer and into a mine field to pull him behind a rock.

Lt. Field was more than a little drunk and fell down when Jack bumped into him. "What the hell!" he said only a little short of a yell. "Sorry Abe I didn't see you there." Jack said while picking up his friend. After looking at Jack Lt. Fields smiled as if forget all about the fall. "Oh its you Commander I didn't mean to yell." Abe said slurring his words together so it was hard to understanding him."Its okay, lets go to that meeting" Jack said.

When Athena had finished telling the crew about the mission parameters Jack stood up and walked towards the med bay to take an aspirin because his implants started acting up during the meeting. When he got there he looked through the porthole and into space. He didn't like the mission they were about to go on. Not because of the five prisoners, they could be dealt with easily if they got out of hand even if they were maximum security. He was more worried about going out to Deep Space. He had been there a few times and the trips were never a vacation. There were no fuel depots out in deep space and it was always a race to get back to get more fuel, not to mention all the aliens. Deep Space wasn't really any governments territory, but that didn't mean those damn aliens weren't trying to claim it. Jack knew most aliens found humans weak and generally most aliens barely tolerate humans, but if they had any excuse they would try and blow up any human ship. An excuse like going into Deep Space while they were there.

Jack hated aliens, but he hated pirates more. Pirates were another danger out in Deep Space. Those loonies would try anything to get a little loot to supply them with drugs, and enough fuel and weapons to pirate some more.

No this was not going to be a vacation.

Lena headed down to the engine room, an elongated room that would be more properly described as a hall. She stepped over Randall’s tool box on her way through the room. The man was always leaving odds and ends scattered through the engine room. It was fortunate that Lena was spry of foot.

It wasn’t long after that Randall came down, banging his foot into his toolbox and cursing and nearly falling to the ground. Lena came running to check on him, half chuckling. “Are you alright?” she asked.

He looked up, disregarding her concern. “I hope you’re ready for some sleepless nights, this will be a long trek through space.”

“Yeah, yeah;” she replied mockingly; “The engines don’t maintain themselves.”

“That’s right,” he told her. The engines began to hum. “Sounds like the Captain has engaged the navigation commands.”

“So soon?” Lena said, moving to her station.

“Let’s get started, young lady;” Randall told her.

Garian listened soundly to the orders given, hands in pockets as she told him, them, that they were going to earth.

Great. Of all the places to be, it had to be earth, the rock I escaped from in the first place He thought to himself, but didn't voice it. He just nodded his head in understanding, turned around and went back to his room turned workshop. His sky blue eyes were distant as he remembered the dishonor he was given over a mistake that wasn't his.

There, in his room, cluttered all over the desks, workplaces, and the floors, were tools of every kind, weapons broken down to their bits and pieces, and messes from lubricants he used to clean barrels. It was his job to keep several of the weapons in working condition as much as he possibly can do. Along the way, he was also customizing several of his own weapons, exchanging barrels, unloading and reloading clips, trying different caliber ammo in said clips. But he was failing it and just put his weapons back together and sat there in relative peace.

He sighed now, wondering now who was going to go out there to grab and escort the prisoners. If there were straws to be picked though, or a choice of those unlucky, he was sure as a possibility that he was going to be in the group that grabs the convicts.

Dal may of drank a little too much, but he was still alert enough to drag himself to the briefing room. He listened, self-consciously pushing up his over-sized sleeves. After Athena had finishing talking, he dawdled his way to the cleaning station.

"C'mon you lifeless excuse for a boy! Get you ass movin' 'fore I kick to your station!"

Dal turned to the 'old coot' behind him, halfway between a grin and a groan slapped onto his face. He moved a little quicker as the old man, Wayne, snapped at his heels until he reached the cleaning station. He took a bucket and mop, and started walking to the holding cells.

"C'mon, keep those legs movin'!"

Wayne was most probably one of the only crew members that could motivate Dal to do work.

Once they had both arrived at the cells, both dunked their mops into their buckets and got to work.

Space Pirates-- Assignment 1 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Space Pirates-- Assignment 1   Space Pirates-- Assignment 1 Icon_minitimeThu May 31, 2012 7:57 pm

With the engines fired up and ready to go, the young man in the cockpit looked up at Captain Blade with a grin on his face. She stared down back at him, with one raised brow. His name was Greg "Joker" Sanders. Most people did not know his first name was actually Greg, seeing as everyone had ever called him Joker. He was intelligent, tech savvy, and the biggest prankster on the ship. But him and Athena went way back, he was the pilot of her government issued ship back when she was still a Commander. Now, he's the pilot of the Creed and could get them anywhere in the universe within the blink of an eye. However, Captain Blade failed to mention the detour to Mars on their way to Earth.

The detour to Mars would be short, and nothing of note. They would need some supplies, and trying to buy while on Earth would make the trip all the more difficult than just stopping by Mars and picking things up. Plus, fuel would come in handy as well. Athena glanced at the indicator bar, and sighed. More money down the drain, it was a good thing that Athena had inherited a great deal of money from her grandparents or this lifestyle might not be possible. Luckily, this job was a hefty pay.

"What are you smiling at Joker?" she muttered now looking straight ahead as he flew.

"I enjoyed your speech, Cap. And I think it's high time we address this thing between us. It has been several years and I know how much you love me." Joker continued to smile as he flew the ship.

Joker was probably the only person who could legitimately make Captain Athena Blade smile, and laugh. Right now, all he got was a smile.

"Hmm, I will still have to think about that. I don't think it's as deep of an affection as you'd like it to be." Her smile grew as she leaned against the railing in front of her. She watched as Joker navigated and wondered what the rest of the crew was up to. Hopefully, their jobs like she expected. She looked to her right and pressed a small blue button. Athena awoke the Creed's AI system AVI. "AVI, let Garian know that I will need his assistance when we land on Mars. Alert the rest of the crew that we will be making a pit stop as well."

"Right away Captain." came a soothing male voice. Most people would expect a female one because most VI's came equipped with one. This one was made especially for Captain Blade. It was the voice of her late husband Commander Eos Blade. He died in the war for Earth, but was another hero like Athena. Everytime she heard the VI speak a little part of her felt a small swell of joy. Her husband was the love of her life, and while she might still be searching to fill the void, she knew no one would ever really come close.

Just then the VI popped on a screen in every room and every area of the ship. In Garian's room the VI spoke a different message from everyone else's. "Garian, the Captain would like you to assist her in getting supplies on the stop to Mars. She needs your weaponry expertise. We should be reaching Mars within an hour." The VI disappeared from view after alerting the rest of the crew to the pit stop, and reappeared in the cockpit. "Message relayed, Captain. Anything else I can assist you with?"

"That'll be all. Keep your portal open in case someone wants to message me that they would like to accompany us to Mars." the VI responded then disappeared from view again.

"Only an hour away Captain." Joker was back to business, the one thing she did like about him was that he could tell when she needed him to make her smile or to get to work. Right now, she needed him to work and Athena went back to leaning on the fence, waiting to see if any other crew mates would join her for the trip.

[[Alright, I feel that we can continue without myxmyxmyx and we will bring his character in later. I will update every Thursday, and depending on how fast ya'll reply Mondays as well. For now, either respond to AVI that you would like to accompany Captain Blade then durp around for an hour before we land on Mars or just durp around. Enjoy!]]

Garian was working on his weapons when the Ship VI turned on in his room and told him that Captain Blade wanted him to come down with her to mars. He nodded, "Thank you, AVI." He said simply and, when the VI disappeared, he quickly put his weapon back together, cocking them and holstering the guns before he made his way out of the room.

He would admit, he wasn't sure of himself being this close to Earth, he already had a bad reputation with them, but as long as they didn't know who he was he'd be fine. He continued on his way up to the Bridge, smiling and nodding to the other crew members on board, making a note to actually get to know them or something when he gets back from the trip. He hadn't really been out of his room much, other than to shower, he always seemed busy to himself, wanting to get not only his weapons, but the crew members weapons set at their best possible configurations and that, unfortunately, took a lot of his time.
